About the Author
William Earl Maxwell is a professor emeritus at San Antonio College, where he has taught courses in U.S. and Texas government since 1971. Throughout his career Maxwell has focused on innovative teaching techniques and improving the teaching and learning environments for students. As part of that effort, in 1975 Maxwell co-authored UNDERSTANDING TEXAS POLITICS, his first text on Texas government. He also co-authored such texts as POLITICS IN TEXAS and THE CHALLENGE OF TEXAS POLITICS: TEXT WITH READINGS. He completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Sam Houston State University.

A thirty-five year veteran instructor of political science, Ernest Crain specializes in political party competition, comparative state politics, and Texas public policy. Crain co-authored UNDERSTANDING TEXAS POLITICS, POLITICS IN TEXAS, THE CHALLENGE OF TEXAS POLITICS, and four editions of INTRODUCTION TO TEXAS POLITICS. Crain received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Texas in Austin.

Adolfo Santos is the chair of the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Houston-Downtown and Associate Professor of Political Science. Dr. Santos received a Ph.D. from the University of Houston in 1998. He is the author of DO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS REWARD THEIR FUTURE EMPLOYERS?: EVALUATING THE REVOLVING DOOR SYNDROME. He also writes about Hispanic representation in the U.S. Congress and the Texas legislature.

Highly recommend, great book!

I moved to Texas for the first time when I started going to college. I had to read this book for one of my classes and it was a very interesting book. Texas is full of remarkable people and fascinating stories. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn about the history of Texas. This book also touches on modern Texas and why the republic does not like strong state government.

Gorgeous custom sketchbook for animators and filmmakers

Very useful and gorgeously produced sketchbook. Nice large lay-flat format. Most pages are blank for users to fill in, organized into the stages of film production--Concept, Story, Color, Characters, and Worlds. Each section has a few pages of inspirational art by Pixar artists, but do note that this is a BLANK SKETCHBOOK.

I want to notify those who disagree with this book that the main reason why is either because they find it "Useless" or blank in general, but they fail to realize the title of the book is named "The Animators sketchbook" for a reason.
First and its imperative to kbow that this book is named "The animator's Sketch book" because its purpose is not toward a specific animator or their artstyle, but the reader is intended to be the animator. Secondly, this book is about creating animations or sketching ideas for animated work(s). This book is EXCELLENT for those who are either in classes involving this field or who would like to practice or even have fun.
If it were a book intended to have images or how to do's, then it would have a specific title or name brand toward something or someone not broadly.
**Tip: If you want a book or multiple books about animated art or designs from Pixar//Disney, you can look at any book that goes toward the film(s) Example: The art of Big Hero 6 has many illustrations and design images from the production of the film, also other books such as "The art of Inside out, or The art of Wreck it Ralph"

Your own creative work book with excellent Pixar examples to help you create your own thing

Make sure you look through this as its more of a creative work book and not just pages of pixar sketches. It has examples in of storyboarding, color script, character design from Pixar films and then allows you to create your own story. This book is BRILLIANT, totally worth the price and I buy multiple copies to hand out to young aspiring creatives and adult creatives. Look at this more like a creative work book with examples of true professionals.

About the Author
Janet N. Mort PhD Janet’s 2014 book Joyful Literacy Interventions is based on recent compelling research, a lifetime of experience with innovations that work. Her book describes a new classroom implementation method for ensuring that over 90% of primary children are reading at grade level by the end of grade 3. Who is Janet and what are her credentials? Janet has a doctoral degree in Language and Literacy (Early Learning) from the University of Victoria (2005). She is an award-winning primary teacher, principal, superintendent and university professor. She retired to university to study why up to 40% of the school population has consistently not achieved success in school over the past 30 years; little progress has been made, especially for vulnerable readers who need experiential gaps in literacy closed by the end of grade three. Janet has developed an early intervention literacy approach that promises, and is proving in over 200 pilot sites, to provide more than 90% literacy success by the end of grade three regardless of poverty issues, ethnicity, and previous literacy experience. In preparation for this work she collaborated with Dr. Clyde Hertzman of the Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) at the University of British Columbia, where she participated in a research program focused on thousands of vulnerable children; her challenge was to analyze the differences in school programs where vulnerable children experienced greater success than classrooms without the same treatment. Based on 35 years in the school system, PhD studies, and school-based research Janet developed and piloted her intervention theories in over 200 pilot classrooms with high vulnerability rates in several school districts in k-2 classrooms with significant results using several measures including pre- and post-testing. In addition, in the past two years Janet has organized eight national Summits called When Vulnerable Children Thrive: Dreams Come True for over 3000 administrators and teachers. The Summits feature North American researchers and authors who typically present at the IRA (International Reading Association): Janet collaborates with these experts whose work is also quoted in her book. A Clear and Compelling Book that Links Research on Vulnerable Readers with Play-Based Approaches for Mastering Critical Skills

This is a book that will be very well received by teachers, principals and school district personnel alike. In clear, understandable prose, Dr. Mort provides a compelling argument of what should be taught in the early years to address the needs of vulnerable readers. Coming from a research base, the book makes a strong case of what should be done to ensure over 90% of all children will read at grade level by the end of the primary years. The research foundation for the book is clear and unequivocal – play is not enough. However, the author never deviates from the approach that should be taken when teaching children. By use of practical examples and beautiful colour photographs, we see that learning must be a joyful experience and fun. As educators and parents, we are left with no doubt as to what we must strive for when educating young children. This book will be a powerful catalyst for change, and an affirmation of best practices backed by solid research.

There are many ideas for setting up and implementing exciting, original approaches to reading and writing activities. It is a must-have for teachers, beginning or experienced, in their search for innovative ways to address the challenges of achieving success for their struggling readers.

This has been an answer to prayer for me as I have worked through this book repenting for my ancestors participation in Freemasonry. I am getting free. This is not for those who are looking to be skeptics but those who are being spirit lead and wanting to be free from lines on inequity that control and trigger them back into sin patterns.

Mind blowing, eerie, sigh of relief... things I thought of while reading just the first chapter. As a person who descends from UK lineage, this book answers not only a lot of questions, but answers the most important one: "How do I get free?" Although the journey through the book is one that takes time and prayer and effort to engage, the results are well worth it. Even from the first prayer in the very first chapter I felt things break off and feel a difference. Praise YESHUA!!
